The Basics

About Working With Us

Do you charge for inspections or estimates?

No. Inspections, consultations and written estimates are free across every service we offer, including full storm damage assessments. There is no obligation and no high-pressure close.

What areas do you serve?

All of Northeast Ohio within roughly a 50-mile radius of our Akron office — Summit, Medina, Stark, Cuyahoga, Portage, Wayne, Mahoning, Lorain, Geauga, Lake and Tuscarawas counties.

Are you insured, and are you registered to work in my city?

Yes to both. We carry full general liability and workers' compensation coverage and can provide certificates directly to you or your insurance carrier. Ohio does not issue a state license for residential roofing or remodeling — it is handled city by city — and we hold the contractor registration required in every municipality we pull permits in.

How quickly can you get to an emergency?

Our emergency line is answered live 24/7/365, and our target is boots on site within 60 minutes across our core Summit, Medina and Stark County area. Further out it depends on distance and conditions.

Do you handle the insurance claim paperwork?

We handle the construction side of it completely: documentation, scope, adjuster meetings, supplements and direct carrier invoicing. You still own the policy relationship, but you are never doing it alone.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — we work with third-party home improvement lenders. Options run from 12- to 18-month same-as-cash promotions to long-term fixed-rate terms. Ask your consultant to run the numbers alongside your estimate.

What warranty comes with the work?

Every project carries our written workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's material warranty. Warranty length varies by service and material — the exact terms are stated in your written proposal before you sign anything.

Can you match my existing materials?

In most cases, yes. Where a product line has been discontinued we source the closest available match and show you a physical sample against your existing material before ordering.

Questions

Exteriors & Outdoor Living

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most Northeast Ohio homes are torn off and dried in within a single day, with detail work and cleanup finishing the next morning. Larger or multi-plane roofs run two to three days. We do not leave a roof open overnight.

Can I just repair my roof instead of replacing it?

Often, yes — and we will tell you so. If the damage is isolated, the deck is sound, and the roof has meaningful life left, a repair is the right call and we will quote it. We only recommend full replacement when the field is failing, the underlayment is compromised, or an insurance scope calls for it.

Will a new roof lower my insurance premium?

Many Ohio carriers apply a discount for a roof under ten years old, and impact-resistant Class 4 shingles can qualify for an additional credit. Ask your agent — we will supply the documentation and product data sheets they need.

What happens if it rains mid-project?

We watch the radar as closely as you do. Every open section is dried in with underlayment before the crew leaves the site, and we will pause a tear-off rather than expose your deck to a storm.

How much does siding cost in Northeast Ohio?

Most full-home siding projects in our market land between $14,000 and $40,000 depending on square footage, material, trim complexity and how much sheathing repair is uncovered. We give you a fixed written number after a free on-site measure — never a phone estimate.

Can you side over the existing siding?

We do not. Layering hides rot, traps moisture, and voids most manufacturer warranties. Full removal is the only way to know what is behind the wall.

Does insulated siding actually work?

Yes — contoured insulated vinyl adds roughly R-2 to R-3.5 of continuous insulation and, more importantly, breaks the thermal bridge at every stud. It also stiffens the panel dramatically, which is why it looks flatter and survives wind better.

Do gutter guards really stop ice dams?

No — and any contractor who says otherwise is selling you something. Ice dams are an attic-temperature problem caused by insulation and ventilation. Guards keep debris out; balanced ventilation and air-sealing stop dams. We assess both.

5-inch or 6-inch gutter?

A 6-inch gutter carries roughly 40% more water and pairs with 3×4 downspouts. We specify 6-inch on steep roofs, large drainage areas, and any run that has historically overflowed.

How much will new windows save me?

Replacing single-pane or failed double-pane units usually makes a real dent in heating and cooling costs, though how much depends on the house. The bigger, faster win is comfort — no cold wall, no draft, no condensation.

Full-frame or insert?

If the existing frame is square, dry and sound, an insert preserves your trim and costs less. If there is any rot, or the frame is out of square, full-frame replacement is the only correct answer. We show you the condition before you decide.

Do I need a permit for a fence?

In most Northeast Ohio municipalities, yes — and many have height, setback and 'good side out' rules that differ street to street. We pull the permit and handle the zoning review as part of the project.

Composite or wood?

Composite costs more up front and less over ten years — no staining, no splintering, no annual sealing. Cedar is warmer underfoot and beautiful, but it is a maintenance commitment. We price both so the trade-off is yours to make.

What does a full outdoor living project cost?

A covered patio with a fireplace and lighting generally starts around $35,000; add an outdoor kitchen and full hardscape and projects commonly run $60,000 to $150,000. We scope in phases so you can build it over two seasons if you prefer.

Questions

Interiors & Additions

How long will my kitchen be out of commission?

A cosmetic refresh runs three to four weeks. A full gut with layout changes runs eight to twelve. We set up a temporary kitchen and give you a written schedule with each trade's dates before demolition day.

What does a kitchen remodel cost in Northeast Ohio?

Mid-range full remodels in our market generally run $45,000 to $85,000. High-end custom with structural changes, premium cabinetry and appliance packages runs $95,000 and up. Cosmetic refreshes start near $22,000.

Do you handle design, or do I need my own designer?

We have interior design in-house. You can use ours, bring your own, or hand us a Pinterest board and let us build the plan from it.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A full gut of a primary bath is typically four to six weeks; a hall or guest bath, two to three. Tile and glass lead times drive the schedule more than labor does, which is why we order early.

What does a bathroom remodel cost?

Guest and hall baths commonly run $18,000 to $32,000. Primary suites with curbless showers, custom tile and freestanding tubs run $40,000 to $90,000.

Can we live in the house during the work?

Sometimes. We zone the work, seal off dust with negative-air containment, and keep one bathroom and one kitchen functional wherever the sequence allows. For full-gut projects we will tell you honestly that moving out is faster and cheaper.

Can you match my existing hardwood?

Usually. We can weave new boards into an existing field and sand and stain the whole floor to a single color so the repair disappears.

How long does an addition take?

Design, engineering and permitting typically run 8–14 weeks before ground breaks. Construction is generally 12–20 weeks depending on size and foundation type.

Questions

Emergency, Storm & Advisory

What does an emergency call-out cost?

The inspection and damage assessment are free. Emergency mitigation — tarping, board-up, water extraction — is covered under many homeowner policies. We document it to carrier standard and bill it into the claim wherever your policy allows. You get the number in writing before we start.

How fast can you get here?

A live answer immediately, and our target is boots on site within 60 minutes across our core Summit, Medina and Stark County area. Further out it depends on distance and conditions. During a widespread storm event we triage by severity — active water intrusion first.

Should I call you or my insurance company first?

Call us first. Emergency mitigation is required by your policy — carriers expect you to prevent further damage — and we will document everything properly so the claim is filed correctly the first time.

How long do I have to file a storm claim in Ohio?

Most Ohio homeowner policies require notice 'promptly' and set an outside limit of one to two years from the date of loss. Do not wait — the longer you go, the easier it is for a carrier to argue the damage is wear and tear.

Will filing a claim raise my rates?

Ask your agent — this varies by carrier and we are not the right people to answer it. What we can tell you is that weather losses are generally treated differently from liability claims, and that unrepaired storm damage is a common reason a policy gets non-renewed.

What if my claim gets denied?

A re-inspection with better documentation sometimes changes the outcome. We request the adjuster's report, identify what was missed or misclassified, document it properly, and file a supplement or request a re-inspection with a field adjuster present.

What will I actually pay out of pocket?

On an approved claim, your deductible — plus anything you choose to upgrade beyond what the carrier approved. We invoice your carrier directly for the approved scope and submit the documentation needed to release the withheld depreciation, and you get your number in writing before we start.

Are you a public adjuster?

No. We are a restoration contractor, not a public adjuster. We document damage, meet your adjuster, and discuss the construction scope with them as your contractor — at no extra fee. A public adjuster charges a percentage of your settlement; we do not, and we are not one.

What if the settlement does not cover everything?

That is what a supplement is for. When we open a roof and find deteriorated decking, or when code requires ice-and-water shield the original scope omitted, we document it and submit it. Supplements are a normal, expected part of the claim process.

Will you look at another company's estimate?

Yes, and we do it regularly. We will tell you where a number is high, where it is suspiciously low, and what has been left out of the scope entirely.
